Frequently Asked Questions
Portable Restroom FAQs
A: Typically we deliver the day before then pick up the next business day after your event.
Q: How many restrooms do I need?
A: That depends on many factors. Here are a few things to think about when making your decision:
- How many guests are you expecting?
- How long is your event?
- Are you serving food and alcohol?
- Is the weather going to be hot? This can cause guests to drink more water than usual and create more usage of the restrooms.
Feel free to fill out a quote request or call us during normal business hours and we will help you out! You may also visit our resources page.
Q: Can you pump out my RV Camper/Trailer?
A: YES we can! You can bring your RV camper/trailer to our main facility located near US131 and 100th St. Or Plummer’s can come to you! Fees will vary based on location.
Q: How long can I have it?
A: There is no one answer as every need is different but we will work with your project needs.
Q: Will you put it anywhere I want?
A: We will do our best to accommodate where you need / want the restroom, but our driver must be able to reach it to pump it out at pickup. Feel free to work together with the driver when he arrives.
Q. Do I have to be there when it is delivered?
A: Depends on the situation. If we have an active credit card on file, nobody needs to be there for delivery. If you order as a COD, someone must be available to pay the driver with exact cash or a check.
Q: What time will the restroom be delivered?
A: Due to the nature of the business we cannot give or guarantee a delivery time; however you can request AM (between 7am and noon) or PM (between noon and 5pm) and we will do our best. This can also be impeded by traffic or a blown tire.
Roll-Off Dumpster FAQs
A: There is no one answer as every need is different but we will work with your project needs.
Q: Do I have to be there when it’s delivered?
A: If you give us a credit card, then no one has to be, unless you want to be present. If you ordered as a COD, there must be someone there to pay the driver cash (exact change only) or check or the driver will not leave the dumpster.
Q: What can I put in there?
A: The best rule of thumb is anything BUT hazardous material. Please click here for more information.
Q: What if I go over the tonnage allowance?
A: Any tonnage that exceeds the allotted amount at ordering will be billed appropriately at a pro-rated $60 per ton
Q: Can I incur additional costs after initial purchase order?
A: Yes, there are items the landfill charges extra for that could result in additional charges. Items such as Appliances at $35 each, Mattresses, box springs, and whole tires at $15 each, or an overloaded dumpster could be subject to these charges.
Q: Can the dumpster be placed in the street?
A. Some cities require you to obtain a permit for a dumpster to be placed in the street/road. This is the responsibility of the homeowner, contractor or representative. The permit must then be forwarded to our office via email or shown to the driver to keep on file so we may then place the dumpster where approved in the street, if approved.
Q: Can the dumpster go my yard?
A: Yes, it can. However, it is not always recommended. A yard can be extremely damaged due to the weight of the dumpster, especially when the ground is wet and causes the dumpster to sink. In addition to the sinking dumpster, the truck that picks it up can cause even more damage to a yard. Plummer’s will honor all reasonable requests but will not be held responsible for damaged driveways or yards due to customer’s dumpster placement request. Furthermore, the substructure under the driveway and quality of the driveway itself could pose a problem when setting or retrieving a dumpster. Plummer’s will not be responsible for cracks or damage that occurs from these types of issues. Any relocation requests will incur an additional charge.
Q: How full can the dumpster be?
A: No higher than just below the top of the dumpster, evenly and level. When a dumpster becomes overloaded, a driver may need to rearrange or unload material so the dumpster can be safely loaded on the truck and transported. This could incur additional charges to the account. In the event the driver cannot physically rearrange or unload the material safely or due to time constraints, an overloaded dumpster may have to remain onsite until the dumpster is loaded at a safe and even level. If a driver cannot retrieve a dumpster due to an overloaded situation and Plummer’s must leave the site without performing a swap-out or final pickup a dry run charge may be applied to the account.
Q: Can I put yard waste in the dumpster?
A: Yes, but only if you rented a yard waste dumpster only. Nothing else can go in it, such as trash or other debris that is not yard waste. Doing so will incur additional cost.
Q: What time will the dumpster be delivered?
A: Due to the nature of the business we cannot give or guarantee a delivery time; however you can request AM (between 7am and noon) or PM (between noon and 5pm) and we will do our best. This can also be impeded by traffic, line(s) at the landfill, a blown tire etc.
